Mission Statement
My belief is that each and every student is capable of learning. As your teacher, I will set high goals for myself and expect the same from you. Traditional values will always hold a place in my classroom. I believe as educators we must take the traditional skills we are teaching further. Children learn best by doing, seeing, and communicating with one another. Therefore, my classroom is an environment that puts an emphasis on discussion and collaboration, as well as encourages critical thinking.
It is our responsibility to cultivate each child's curiosity, excitement, and love for learning. I will provide this by being a professional that models this passion for mathematics as well as provide a safe place that inspires your student to ask questions and to think critically. I will also include others in this important endeavor by building a collaborative partnership between fellow educators and families. It is the vision of Garrett-Keyser-Butler School Corporation to prepare and support all students to safely and effectively participate in an information-rich, technology-infused society. This is the second year for 1-1 Mac computers in our math class. Every student is provided with a laptop that they take with them to each class as well as home. I see these computers as another tool that will supplement the teaching in the classroom. |
